TITLE: New Crop Coffee Update
  Author: gary
POSTED: 2006-03-10 11:13:53

We are extremely excited about the arrival of this years new crop coffees. The first to arrive this year was our latestest addition to our sustaiable coffee offerings. A 100% Rainforest Alliance certified Costa Rician, Strictly Hard Bean Coffee from Cafetalera Aquiares. From the looks of the shipment we have recieved the first 275 BAG lot of coffee from this crop year, LOT# 05/001/0001. Kind of cool. to see that stinceled on the bags

The RA Costa Rican is the first of several new orignis for our RA sustainable product line. As a single origin coffee it has a good body, high acidity but with a slightly green flavor which will mellow with age. For the mean time it has proven to be a wondertful blend coffee at the 1/3 or 1/2 level. Look for new products cotaining the Costa Rican and give them a try, as early experiments have produced fantastic resultes, I am drinking a cup a 50/50 CR / Brazil as I type... yum...

The next to arrive will be one of two new Nicarguan Strictly High grown Matagalpa coffees, both pre-shipment samples are wonderful and I can't wait to get them into Charleston and try them in some blends... Also our usual shipments of fresh Finca Nueva Granada Guats and Finca Santa Barbara El Salvadors are on the water and headed for Miami. The Guat preshipment sample had fantastic flavor and body. Look for them to appear in production in mid March.

Also on the Specialty side, we have a new Fair Trade Colombian, an Organic Guat, new Kenya AAs, and A Genuine Antigua to name just a few due for arrival in March. This should prove to be a great coffee year from the looks of things so far.

Look forward to all of these products in the near future and enjoy the new crop coffees!
