our roast and grind types explained

* COFFEE ROAST SELECTION:

  • HOUSE ROAST - This (American) roast profile produces a vivid flavor and beautiful, light to medium brown in color bean, with no surface oils. The unique flavor characterisics of the coffee are maintained producing a vibrant and complex taste. (Our Favorite)

  • DARK ROAST - This "Medium to City" style roast produces a slightly bittersweet flavor and medium dark brown in color bean, with a small hint of surface oils. The unique flavor characterisics of the coffee are still present but with a slight bittersweet taste. A good start to any day!

  • FRENCH ROAST - This popular roast produces a slightly "smokey" flavor with uniform character, a dark brown color, and an oily bean surface. A good roast for espresso, plunge pot or dark roast, drip brewing.

* COFFEE GRIND SELECTION:

  • HOUSE GRIND - This medium fine grind is good for most brewing applications including automatic drip, cone filters, and plunge pots. Our most popular grind.

  • FINE GRIND - This fine grind provides for the maximum extraction of coffee flavors during most brewing applications. Produces a dark and rich flavor. Not recomended for use on automatic drip coffee makers with small brew baskets.

  • COARSE GRIND - Medium fine grind good for most typical brewing applications including automatic drip, cone filters, and plunge pots. Also good for perculators and in low flow rate/long steeping period applications where less extraction is required.

  • WHOLE BEAN - This unground form allows you to grind the coffee at brew time to your liking, producing the freshest possible results..
